100 Things About Me1) Right now I can't think of much to write about myself at all, but once I get started I probably won't be able to stop.
2) I have blue eyes with green around the pupil. However, in artificial light they tend to look bright green.
3) My skin is so pale it's ridiculous, but I like it. I personally prefer pale skin over fake tan.
4) I feel naked if I'm not wearing eyeliner.
5) I love a mixture of alternative clothing and will actually dare to wear them more dramatically when I can afford to. (Jobs are a very rare find here). This includes: cyberpunk, gothic, gothic lolita, neo-victorian, raver, bubblegoth and visual kei.

Big vs Skinny

You say that big is beautiful
That it's the new 'in thing'
You talk about how nice I'd look
If only I weren't thin
But will you come to realise
That it really isn't right
To say that we're not big enough
And take our name in spite?

You may have gotten insults
From some idiotic men
But when you call us skin and bones
You're just as bad as them
To say that big is beautiful
Is fine and true to say
To say that big is better
Is to think a hateful way

Nothing's better, nothing's 'right'
We're built to look unique
To say we're pretty, big and skinny
That's the peace I seek
It's easier to get along
When we're not starting fights
To see the wars of big vs skinny
Aren't such pretty sights

So lets find a happy medium
To stop this pointless hate
Let's have respect for everyone
No matter what their weight
And when we all abide by this
We'll see what happens then
A world full of less hate and fear
And more friendship again

A lot of the time I see my friends on facebook sharing pictures with little phrases like 'real women have curves' and 'bigger is better' and it really gets to me. I know a lot of people are ridiculed for their weight or appearance but to insult other people because of it doesn't help anyone. Saying things like 'it's better to be big than be a stick insect' is just as bad as the people that say 'thin people are hotter than big people'. Just because you're big doesn't mean you're better than other people, and the same applies to being thin.

I think society is what has ruined us. There is no "big" and there is no "small". As long is someone is the healthy weight for their body type, I think its great. I have a friend who's a dancer and she's naturally small and petite, and I myself am a swimmer so I've got a larger body. Doesn't mean she's anorexic or that I'm fat. I think you're portraying a great image people should follow. Its never fair to judge others only on weight.

I've been my whole life overweight (due to my sickness. My family is full of marathon runners.) and in past few years I've lost a lot of weight by exercise. One day while running I realised that no matter how much I run and I lose weight, there will be people who think I'm disgusting. If I'm overwight, some people regard me as ugly. If I'm thin, there will be people who hate me for being thin. But I didn't stop running, on the contrary, I smiled at the thought. I don't run or lose weight anymore for being prettier in other people's eyes: I want to run because I like it and it makes me feel strong and beautiful. This poem reminded me of that realisation and decision. Thank you. You made my day a little brighter.

Yes and its like the creepy fixation on someone's body, like they feel the need to insult you whether your skinny, or fat. And its still like focusing on the appearance I guess, like the body is how you judge a person (if that makes sense).

I hate being big. Fat people get made fun of quite often. I've tried diet after diet and exercise but I can't seem to get my weight back down right down....to be honest I know you're supposed to love who you are but I don't. I also know the opposite is true, skinny girls who are just naturally thin are called anorexic and other stupid things even though they are healthy and can't help the way they were built. Same woth bigger people. people automatically assume a person is fat because they eat too much, but you dont know that. I have a friend who is overweight because she will very ill and had to be put on steroids, which blew her up. There are also people on both ends who just don't take care of themselves too, which causes stereotypes on both ends. But you have to admit, society sets a certain image on how women should look, skinny. And it makes people like me insecure.

But I see what you mean. We should be accepting of all shapes and sizes, but unfortunately people are too shallow to do so. :/
