Good MorningGood Morning.

I have a distressing tendency of waking up too early.

The sun escaping from the blinds always begins to stir me.

Just as I begin to behave sullen and surly, her presence averts me.

I turn to my side to see the vein in her left arm pump overtly.

She's completely immersed by the covers.

I have to resist temptation not to hold and hug her.

Her body suddenly moves with a spontaneous shudder.

Her mouth moves but not a word or sound does she utter.

I stare at her intently and push her stray hairs behind her ear.

Realising that loosing this woman will be my most dreadful fear.

Her eyes momentarily open just to make sure that

WaitingA few minutes too late
a couple hours too early

But what difference does it make
when you're gone

I'm tired of waiting

BruisedTell me the words I desire to hear, your honesty is optional.

Bandage my deepest wounds, while cleansing your bloodied blade.

Be so selfless to put me first, only to use me as your human shield.

Take the courage to lash out at my enemies, just to feed your own ego.

Praise me for my generosity, knowing I'm gullible enough to give you what you want.

Beg me for my forgiveness, only to repeat your betrayals.

Confide in me your fears, just to take from me my hopes.

Create in me a purpose, then reveal it to be meaningless.

Leave me with my darkest thoughts, making your escape with my dreams.

Set the standard for my expectations, left with

Lies I hide underneath, my own tear stained eyes
In hope that what I see, Is only more lies

The truth is seen clearly
But not to me
I only have time to see those that I deceive

Seldom do I forget
The tales I've told,
The people I've meet,
The pain I hold

Lies are what I live
Lies are what I thrive
Lies do not forgive
Lies do not lie

EagleHow would it feel to fly high through the sky?
No worries and feeling lighter than a fly
Looking down on the world
Just waiting for the future to unfold

The eagle flies high and free
Over land and over sea
Not a thing on your mind
Being taken away by the wind

It flies gracefully through the sky
And all I can do is sigh
It leaves the world in peace
So why can't we leave the world in peace?

Don't just leave a better world for the humans
But for the other forms of life as well

JoyOne magical summer was all it took
For me to fall in love with you
I was no longer a closed book
I finally found someone I could talk to.

Picnics in the middle of the forest
Flowers in my hair
A thousand vows we promised
Never each other's happiness to impair.

We stand peering into the lake
My reflection always right next to yours
Nothing on Earth could ever break
Our eternal love on these shores.

The season that changed my life
With you into another world I would delve
A world completely absent of strife.

And now I confidently beside you stand
Beautifully adorned in my ivory dress

Beautiful EyesThey speak to me, spilling your secrets, opening your soul.
There's nothing you can hide in your beautiful eyes,
As golden and magical as the morning sunrise.

They're a kaleidoscope of emotion.
Whispers of unwritten stories in each little fleck of green,
Murmuring tales of broken hearts, visits to the between.

The depth of your pain, your albatross
Spins in those eyes, plunging down, down, fathomless;
Yet, they sparkle at a distance, boundless, fearless.

I drown in those eyes, listening eagerly to the stories.
I am lost in your ageless soul...

ScarsThe mind forgets
But the heart remembers
The criss-crossing scars
Show like stars
The streaming tears
And haunting fears
Flowing pain
Of the slain
The cries of those
Who never screamed
Praying for life
Without a sound
The pleas for help
Never heard
The wishes that chance
Never granted
The pain might dull
And the mind forget
But the heart
Will always remember

AddictedAddicted

I'm addicted to a drug
a drug so intense
that it doesn't make sense
a drug you don't easily get
a drug revealing regret

I'm addicted to a drug
a drug I need every day
a drug which makes me pay
a drug allowing my heart to feel
and ignoring things that are real

I'm addicted to a drug
a drug I'm starting to hate
but can't get off it, it's too late
a drug I finally regret taking
a drug which keeps my body heavily shaking

I'm addicted to a drug
a drug causing me immense pain
though it's just so little, simple and plain
a drug I traded for everything I had
a drug which can only be found inside my head

Red or AmethystCome to me in the dawn of the month,
When the moon is at the peak of ascent
I will present you with flowers so fine-
Two roses- one red, one amethyst,
But be wary of which one you choose,
For each is beauteous and terrible in power
The red rose brings back your lost love,
While the other bestows a healed heart
So now I shall ask for your choice:
Would you prefer red, or amethyst?

SilenceIt is there
When I ask if he still loves me
And the rebounding quiet screams
His unspoken response.
And the occasional reluctant verbal translations:
"I don't want to talk about this"
"We are not having this conversation"
Codify this as the official language of our domestic domain.
"Only silence is spoken here."

It is there
When I ask my child:
"Why have you done this thing?
Endangered yourself, hurt me, hurt others,"
And her reply consists only of a murderous glare.
How dare I break the house rule and speak the forbidden tongue?
And I'm left to wonder if she even cares.
Do my words even matter?
Am I even here at all?

It is

RevolutionWe'd look up at the stars
to forget the pages of history books turning
and the fires burning within our hearts.

One smile was all it took
Who thought a heart could break this quickly?
One glance, one stare
Did you even remember that I was there?
Your eyes locked on her face
Who thought a heart could crumble into decay?
There are so many things I want to say
So many things I want to scream in your face
So many tears I tried to hide
When I said I felt better, could you tell that I lied?
Could you tell that this is eating away at me?
The image won't go away
I try to remind myself of happiness and glee
But I remember when you were with her, and not me
Now you tell me you love me, I trust you with that
And I want you to know that I love you too
But seriously, I'm starting to feel insecure
I want you to know that I love you, and only you

But, please tell me, could you tell me that too?
